Description of Articles Supplied

All plaques and house signs are made to requirements specified by each individual customer. Every item is supplied to a written description of the text and number layout agreed between House Sign Shop and the customer by email before an order is accepted. Colours shown on the website are indicative. All reflective house signs are made from cultured marble/resin with reflective text heat laminated flush to the plaque surface.

Prices

All prices are in GBP and include the base plaque and chosen options, plus postage depending on destination country. Prices are subject to change and current website prices override any prices advertised elsewhere.

Lead Times & Delivery

Signs are individually made to order and we aim to despatch within 7–10 working days of your approval of the design proof. Lead times can vary around busy periods such as Christmas. We will email you a layout drawing for approval before making your sign — only once approved can we give an estimated despatch date.

Signs are sent by recorded or special delivery and require a signature. If delivery is missed, a card will be left with the nearest sorting office address. Parcels are held for 7 days before being returned. In the unlikely event of a lost parcel, we will trace and replace the goods once sufficient time has been allowed — up to 4 weeks for international shipping.

Refunds & Returns

You are covered by UK distance selling legislation. If your order arrives damaged, we will replace it or offer a full or partial refund. Please contact us within 7 working days of receipt with details and photos of the damage — retain all original packaging.

As signs are custom made, they are not eligible for returns unless damaged or faulty. Returns are at the customer's expense unless we agree otherwise.

Faulty Product

Any sign that does not meet the agreed specification will be replaced or refunded. Please email customerservice@housesignshop.co.uk within 7 days of receipt. Complaints are acknowledged within 2 working days.

For custom painted signs, we do not offer refunds based on personal taste, but will endeavour to alter the design if the sign is returned at the customer's expense.

About Our Natural Slate Signs

Slate is a natural product with graining and inclusions formed over millions of years. Inclusions such as pyrite (fool's gold) are normal and give slate its natural charm. As inclusions cannot be predicted before engraving, we do not accept returns for slate signs on this basis.

Guarantees

Generic coverage is an up to 7-year guarantee. Reflective house signs carry a 7-year worldwide guarantee against climate deterioration. Natural Slate signs carry a 3-year guarantee and White Corian signs carry a 7-year guarantee. Your date-stamped guarantee is printed on the reverse of your receipt — please retain it.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against any claims, losses, liabilities, damages and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your use of this site or our products.

Privacy & Confidentiality

The information you provide will not be shared with any third party.

Jurisdiction

These terms are subject to the laws of England and the jurisdiction of the English Courts.

Consumer Rights

None of the above terms and conditions affects your statutory consumer rights under UK law.
